Open a ClinicThe NSNRT is a strategic training program designed by Humane Alliance Spay/Neuter clinic to address a national epidemic. "There is no disease or condition of companion animals that takes as many of their lives as euthanasia," says Janet M. Scarlett, DVM, Associate Professor Of Epidemiology at Cornell University. The vision is the strategic placement of this spay/neuter model across the nation. Clearly, our nation's best defense against all of the sources of shelter intake is targeted, aggressive, high-volume, high-quality, low-cost sterilization. This is an urgent need that will require a skilled, dedicated and well-organized team to train organizations to open and operate strategically placed high-volume, high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter clinics across the nation. The National Spay/Neuter Response Team recognizes that the greatest challenge over the next 5 years is IMPLEMENTATION of models that work. This model consists of a team which is made up of the Humane Alliance Spay/Neuter Clinic staff. This team is committed to the fundamental responsibility to assure that the full resources of the group are effectively utilized to achieve the successful duplication of high-volume, high-quality, targeted, low-cost spay/neuter clinics across the country. The goal is that the trainees will become creative collaborators and participants in the national program. Each new clinic becomes a steward of the vision/program.
